Traffic Advisory Ahead of IPL Match

Bengaluru: In anticipation of the IPL clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chinnaswamy Stadium today, the Bangalore traffic police have released a detailed traffic advisory. This advisory will be in effect from 3 PM to 11 PM on May 17, highlighting parking restrictions and designated parking zones for fans and commuters. Spectators are encouraged to utilize specific entry and exit points at the stadium to minimize congestion and facilitate smooth traffic movement.


Traffic is expected to return to normal once the match concludes. Drivers are urged to steer clear of the areas where parking is prohibited. Alternative routes and public transportation are recommended for timely arrival at the venue. It is advised to plan your journey in advance and cooperate with traffic authorities to avoid any disruptions.

  • Queens Road (from Balekundri Circle to Queens Circle, both sides)
  • M.G. Road (from Anil Kumble Circle to Queens Circle, both sides)
  • Link Road (from M.G. Road to Cubbon Road)
  • Rajbhavan Road (at T. Chowdaiah Road & Race Course Road)
  • Central Street Post (both sides)
  • Cubbon Road (from C.T.O. Circle to Dickenson Road, both sides)
  • St. Marks Road (from Cash Pharmacy to Anil Kumble Circle)
  • Museum Road (from MG Road to St. Marks Road & Ashirvadam Circle)
  • Kasturba Road (from Queens Circle to Hudson Circle)
  • Lavelle Road (from Queens Circle to Vittal Mallya Road)
  • Vittal Mallya Road (from Siddalingaiah Circle to Bishop Cotton Girls School)

  • Designated Parking Areas

    Fans are advised to utilize the limited parking options available at St. Joseph’s Indian School Ground, UB City Parking Lot, and the first floor of the BMTC Depot at Shivajinagar Bus Stand. For KSCA members, there is limited parking at St. Joseph’s European School on Museum Road. Additionally, police personnel on duty may use the parking facility at the Old KGID Building during the event.


    Entry and Exit Gates
    • Entry to Gates 1–6 via Cubbon Road
    • Entry to Gates 7–11 via Link Road (Anil Kumble Circle and BRV Circle)
    • Entry to Gates 12–21 via Queens Road

    NOTE: All vehicles except BMTC buses are prohibited from entering Cubbon Road (from Kamaraja Road to Dickenson Road). Furthermore, no parking is allowed inside Cubbon Park, Kings Road, opposite the Press Club, and on Bal Bhavan Road up to Fountain Junction.
